It sucks. I was hoping for this to relieve some things.

Risperdal works well for social anxiety. Combine it with lorazepam, and it's a real enabler. Start up side effects are similar to Seroquel.

Any success with Buspar for SAD? (social)

I tried Risperdal without any success. It is the only neuroleptic that is basically not better than placebo for me. Has anyone had any success with buspar? Can people drive safely on it?

I am currently approaching full remission for having added Nardil to my treatment regime. It is likely that I am biased regarding the value of Nardil.

For a anxious depression or social phobia, there is no better drug than Nardil. In the 1980s, Nardil was considered to be the gold standard to treat atypical depression with reverse vegetative features, social anxiety/phobia, and generalized anxiety disorder.

If you are currently hopeless and helpless, Nardil is an obvious alternative when treating treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and anxiety disorders. The terms, "treatment-resistant", and especially "refractory", don't apply to you if have never tried Nardil.

With few exceptions, I think it is illogical to avoid Nardil, especially if you are contemplating suicide.

Unfortunately Nardil got me into a state that doctors didnt like at all. I am a wimp without it and that is probably good because I actually think many things are very very wrong. On Nardil, Ill be belligerent and that leads to trouble.

The only thing I could imagine is if say 30 or 20 mg would be okay where I am neither a wimp nor a hothead.

Buspar was ok...it does work good with antipsychotics to calm you a bit. I also found both Dexedrine (amphetamine) and Vyvanse (extended release amphetamine pro-drug) work excellent for social phobia/anxiety disorder. I have been on them for over 10 years with only mildly having to adjust the dose.

Scott, what is your current regimen? Nardil, at least alone didn't help my SAD or my depression. But maybe as part of a combo?

It did work for anxiety. However it replaced the anxiety with something worse. Doctors didn't like my reaction to Nardil at all.
