Where do you purchase individual terpines?

OK. I see.

I should pay attention a bit more to the terpine profile of the the product I buy. The only problem, however, is that there are many other compounds (that they don't list) that probably have a greater influence on the effect of the strain.

For example, there are other cannabinoids that they are just learning about: CBN, CBV and CBG for example.

If you harvast later, for example, some of the THC A turns to CBN. This tends to reduce the high, but produce of a sedative strain.

I'm just learning myself though.

Sorry Linkadge as this is totally off topic, but if you get a sec could you post a follow-up comment on your 2018 trial w Agmatine over here: https://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20220530/msgs/1120004.html

I was looking for info on it just now and found that thread. Someone else asked how you did w it a couple weeks ago.

I'll just reply here (if that's ok). Agmatine does help my depression (and it works quickly). But there are some drawbacks. Firstly, it causes major sleep fragmentation. From what I understand NMDA antagonists can do this. Also, a single dose tends to produce an effect lasting a day or two. Finally, the effect tends to feel more like a stimulant. It greatly increases my locomotor activity, but it isn't a very settled feeling.

I still use it periodically (perhaps once ever two weeks or so). It enhances the effect of weed (especially if I have any pains) and may reduce some of the tolerance. It can snap me out if I am really depressed, but I don't feel it lasts very long. All in all, I have not found it useful for depression maintenance. But, it is still useful nonetheless. I would encourage you to try it, if you haven't already.

The variety and potential uses can be overwhelming. Sounds like you know much more than I do! This terpene was recommended by an acquaintance with whom I share a similar symptom profile.

I'll report back if I notice anything. Hope you're doing ok.

Thanks Linkadge for the reply, and Beckett for letting me hijack your thread for a second :)

No. I'm really not doing ok (but thanks for asking). I just (foolishly) went through (another) escitalopram trial (hoping that it would magically be less crappy than the last). Effexor sucks, but it sucks much less (for me) than escitalopram. At least I don't have as much apathy.

On the weed story, there is so much they don't know. CBG for example, acts as a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor as well as an alpha-2 agonist. Kind of like atomoxetine + guanfacine (both used for ADHD).

If you benefit from terpines, you might try to get an aromatherapy defuser. I use lavender, peppermint, pine etc. You actually absorb the terpines when you breath. There is a growing body of research behind "aromatherapy". Note, the term aromatherapy is a bit of a misnomer. Yes the smell itself likely has a psychological impact, but they've shown that essential oils have behavior effects in animals that can't smell (through the absorption of terpenes).
