So according to Daniel Amen, exercise pulls amino acids to your muscles and that way Tryptophan has less competition at the blood brain barrier. I am not a fanboy, but maybe some things he says could be helpful.

Is Amen right? What are other mechanisms? I heard there is an endorphin release. How does that work?

I think the benefits of exercise to mitigate depression are multifactorial. It does work, though. Prolonged aerobic exercise works better than intense resistance training. However, resistance training still has a positive effect.

Doing both is best is what I heard. I am now looking into the question if I am too acidic. What I eat points in that direction. Got myself an apple cider/Bicarbonate/Water and honey drink.
