Xenon for Depression and Anxiety

I think it is being studied as we speak. There is a clinic in Prague which is not too far. Should help anxiety and depresssion.

Xenon is a NMDA-glutamate receptor antagonist, like nitrous oxide (laughing gas), dextromethorphan (DXM), memantine, ketamine, and phencyclidine (PCP), but it is much safer than some of them; it does not appear to produce what is known as Olney's lesions that can be caused by ketamine and PCP.

I may try if I deem it reasonably safe. No psychotic side effects, I hope!

It goes under the name NBTX-001 in trials. Let me know what you think. If it was discovered that it cures most mental illnesses, I am not certain that it would be marketed. Because revenue of other substances would shrivel.

Apparently, NBTX-001 consists of gases (30% xenon, 30% oxygen, 40% nitrogen) and a special inhalational device. I'm sure you can use xenon without the special device.

As for psychosis, I don't know, but ketamine can produce transient psychotic-like effects. I wouldn't worry about it, and I would try it myself if it were offered to me.

I think I can get fine though with my current meds and all the measures I am taking to get better. Xenon would be a risk at least to my mind. I am not troubled because I lack Xenon.
