mirapex

Posted by rjlockhart37 on December 12, 2021, at 21:43:56

i've been reading about dopamine agonists, and their withdrawls. Some people said it was pretty bad, they took it for restless leg syndrome and when they stopped it, tons of withdrawl symptoms. Dopamine agonits are also known to increse or make complusive gambling, reward like behavior. But anyone know contnts on mirapex or dopamine agonists?

Pramipexole (Mirapex, Sifrol) was the only drug that ever treated my anhedonia. It stopped working so I quit it, and had no withdrawal symptoms.

i read reviews on drugs.com there were people that said it helped them, and they were able to funciton with parksinson's or restless leg syndrome, and that's all said, it worked. Then...read others that it was a nightmare, they were taking it for restless leg syndrome, it didnt seem to work...they reduced and stopped, and withdrawl symptoms from hell. Guess when certain dopamine nuerons are not stimulated by the mirapex, it causes depression and unbalances. I guess dopamine agonists, are selective more than stimulants....but when there stopped, depression not sure. When i totally stopped dexedrine i was deoressed lifeless. Dopamine firing has been reduced and cuases depresion. Not sure how that works with mirapex withdrawls

Dopamine agonists:

This was also my experience with both bromocriptine (Parlodel) and primapexole (Mirapex). The improvement for me lasted only a few days, but this response occurred immediately after the first dose.

i've been worrying about something, i have symptomp of parkinson's disease, this may just be nothing or anxiety, but have tremors, and parkinson like symptoms. I have been on every prayer website there is, to make these symtpms go away. Danmaged dopamine repceptors that no longer work, low dopamine causes movement disorders, parkinson's.

Have you found anything else with the same effect (anti-anhedonia)?

Only two drugs have had a robust anhedonic effect for me.

1. Imipramine (Tofranil) - 3-7 days.
2. Phenelzine (Nardil)
....a. Monotherapy - 3 weeks.
....b. Polytherapy
........i. With amitriptyline (Elavil) - 3 days (Probably the result of amitriptyline without a contribution by phenelzine 45 mg/day).
........ii. with nortriptyilne + lamotrigine + lithium - 1 year + 4 months.

I have also experienced mild and transient anhedonic effects from:

1. Bromocriptine
2. Olanzapine
3. Asenapine
4. Nomifensine
