Phenibut

Posted by rjlockhart37 on October 20, 2021, at 19:15:31

im sure couple people here on babble know about it. It caused me to have to go to a psych ward during withdrawls. They skyrocked me on librium to prevent siezures or severe withdrawl. I'll give you a explantion. So for about 2-3 years i took phenibut, it worked absolute wonders for me. My doctor didnt use anxiety meds, or....she didnt take me seriously. So i started phenibut, worked wonders.

Calm and more social, relaxed. It's a GABA-b agonist. But after all that time on it, someone made a big deal and said you need to go your doctor and tell her about the withdrawls (this was the first period) i was put on valium to prevent siezures and my doctor was gracious and let me stay on valium. Well, after that i still had phenibut left, my doctor so trting to help me, but after taking it the 2nd time after valium was used. I had to go to psych ward, skyrocked dose of librium for 5 days then they slowly moved me off it. My doctor was gracious for letting me stay on valium, but was stripped away after the psych ward. And also....nuvigil. God, that such a hard blow to take. So, here i am today, left off nuvigil and having frequently use caffeine which doenst work. I feel i need to go to another doctor, im insultin my doctor but im taken seriously, when i explain my anxiety- all awenser i got was go to therapy. I've been in therapy and had panic attacks and jolkts of anxiety even talking to therapist. It's nuerological problem i have with anxiwty.

So...phenibut is never gonna be touched again. After that hell that happened. But this is thing , i started taking higher doses of it, then when i twas cold turkey - it was horrible

anyays that's just my expereince but don't let that make the post non discusabble..

so phenibut is a GABA-b agoinst. It's gabapentinoid, but has gaba-b agoinst properties whixh what causes the feeling of peace and relief. If anyone wants to ask about phenibut we can do a research project

I do use phenibut on occasion, but in lower doses say 50mg in a stack with other supplements.

When I was trying it, I took as much as I could of it. The taste was horrible, and that was what kept me from taking even higher doses of it. It was in powder form.

No effect.

I never had any stimulant effects from it (which some people notice), nor did I find it euphoriant in any way. But, it did improve anxiety and slow down brain chatter.

Fortunately, I've never really had problems with drub abuse per se. For example, if I take too much ritalin I just feel anxious and strung out. If I take too much benzo I just feel depressed.

on the bottle it said do not take more than 4 days in a row. And said use it sparely. And they were right but for years i relied on it then i noticed after a long time my GABA receptors were becoming tolerant. I had to take GABA supplement to re-ignight the calmness effect

Have you recovered completely from the Phenibut withdrawal? It seems to still occupy your thoughts.

yes, it took about a months to get back to normal, the first week was the worst, but yeah i don't have anymore withdral, it was a year ago. I still think about it, and also being ripped off valium and nuvigil medications after it. It was a hard blow to take. I still wished i could go back in space-time and undo my choices, if i knew this was gonna happen i would never made choice.

it was a cold turkey withdrawl, someone made a big deal about me being in withdrawl, not eating or sleeping and having tremors, i had to go to hospital because of the withdrawli didnt sleep for 3 days. And you know....phenibut is not that bad, i was taking massive doses and that's why i had the horrible cold turkey withdrawl symptoms. I never am touching the stuff again, if i did i would go through the process of having to slowly wean myself off, im never taking phenibut again. Bad memories even though it did work very well with anxiety. At the dose i was taking, it makes your GABA receptors tolerant, so freqeuntly had to increase till i got to the a point where i said, im not going any higher. I had to take GABA supplement to have a calmness, because of the tolerance

1) - stopped phenibut because there was no more left, i tried to ride it out, but the withdrawl symptoms became bad, not sleeping for 3 days, no appitite,
2) my doctor said go to the hospital
3) I was taken off nuvigil during my stay in the hospital, they skyrocked me on librium to prevent siezures. They also put me on lithium for a short time because they said i was manic
4) went to out patient program, they put me on nuerontin
5) i saw my doctor again, she said no more valium or nuvigil because of what i did, i still sometimes need to feel i go another doctor and have new treatment.
6) 1 year later - here i am

it's choices that have consequence, so my consequence is what happened, i still think about a year later, but it's over and done with now.

it's a gabapentinoid but it has GABA-beta agonist properties. It gives a feeling of peace, and calm. I take gabapentin and i have say phenibut was a bit better but it's withdrawl properties are bad. You can have withdrawl easy with it, at moderate doses. Higher doses, increase the peace feeling, then the next day you go without it, severe anxiety, insomnia, no appitite, sweating. Nuerontin is .. not like phenibut, has diffrent properties. Gabapentin doenst give the calm feeling phenibut does

gabapentin does promote mild relaxation, and calm. Phenibut is just diffrent, but it also has relaxing properties. Phenibut improved mood more than gabapentin... But if you take moderate to high doses over a period of days, then suddently stop it, bad withdrawls.
