a serotonin bath

for mah brain. eek!

I never thought I'd so well with an ssri. celexa...helped me simmer down, but it proved too, too tranquilizing. this Prozac, man...its gettin' the job done, at only 20mgs!

i know it is overly simplistic to say "well, this ssri helped...therefore, I need to bathe my brain in serotonin," but...seriously...

phobic states, looping thoughts, agitation, etc...welcome to my lows. :-(

with the Orthomolecular on board (I really do think it helps, even if it just means fewer meds, lower dosages, and less toxicity out of what I take than without vitamins...), I take:

20/Abilify (down to 15, starting today), 20/Prozac, max 300/gabapentin...

and life goes on, with far less misery.

so...i still get near panic attacks, just not frequently. i still get stuck in my head...just not as much.

low dose buspar, maybe? could I try 5htp? i could reintroduce niacinamide (my preferred version of B3).

I've been taking relatively high dose (6 grams) taurine. helps me simmer...

what do y'all think? thanks. :-)

I think that's awesome that you enjoy yourself. I do that mostly, too. Why? i dont know. I think its a variety of factors. Supplements play a big role in my recovery, too. Sometimes the combination of several helpful supplements REALLY makes a difference.

I think one mistake many make is not to accept a partial improvement.

its easier to enjoy myself now that im close to my family and i've matured a good bit...plus, i have faith. true story: faith in something helps individuals and can help create mini-communities in the face of widespread social disintegration.

with my response to Prozac, I'm kind of wondering...what if the "problem" should be dealt with more on the mood end, less on the tranquilizer end. not to complain...abilify+prozac+as needed gabapentin is far more humane and tolerable than what a lot of people end up with, for whatever reasons.

im now curious to see if a couple weeks on the 15mgs/dosage psych wants me on will elevate my mood further, by decreasing the neuroleptic intake. psych was talking about going down to 10, which...

would be something of a dream come true, honestly. plus, with abilify...it doesn't seem that the data really supports going much above 10-15, for most people.

how are you doing?

Doing okay. A rotten roommate moved out and I have started studying at home. I now live on my own. My family is behind me, too. Social support is so important.
