are these closely related and are they even prescribed anymore....does any one use them?

Paxil is still used fairly frequently, Luvox is used less so. I briefly tried paxil, but it just made me numb.

Hi Joe.

Paxil worked well for me for many years with my OCD. Depression wasn't too much of a concern at that time. Saying that, it really was the first SSRI that I had tried. (Back in year 2000.)It was a god send at the time and compared with Anafranil (clomipramine), had far less side effects. Anafranil was indeed the gold standard for OCD but side effects difficult to live with. Sedation ++ Take care Joe. P.S. There is nothing wrong with being a dinosaur! (Although, as I suspect it is simply the difference in 'favourites' in different countries.
