Interesting, thanks for posting that Link. I am always cautious of the 'forced swim test' though. These animal models are hardly a good representation of human illness!

True. However, there is some evidence that the cb1 receptors mediate serotonin release. Also there are the psychiatric side effects associated with cb1 antagonists.

I personally, do notice that small doses really do help depression (1-2mg of THC). However, with higher doses can make it worse.

Yep, that's my experience though I don't know at what dosages.

THC has a bad effect on me, it makes everything feel like a dream, and reality stops making sense, yet when other friends they all get good and saying good vibes and having the munchies on weed, it has a terrible effect on me, dysphoric psychedelic experience, it's a paradox reaction i don't understand why happens to me

it's not supposed to do that, its supposed to chill you out and improve mood, with me, it does not

it's being legalized alot, but me and THC don't get along so stay clear of it

Hey RJ,

I would just say two things. First off, higher doses of THC, without accompanying CBD can certainly cause the reaction you described.

It is often difficult to smoke street MJ and get a 'low' dose of THC. Also, street drugs can be laced with other substances which can obfuscate the effect.

With a medical grade product it is easier to get a lower dose.

Of course, if you had a bad reaction, stay away. However, if you happened to smoke a high THC street weed (prhaps laced with something), it may not give you a good indication.

it was this stuff called hydro, it's a potent form and i was just ... at a party, i puffed and i had ....everything all of sudden became dream-like and reality stopped making sense

your right it's higher doses, that's probably why

A threshold dose, with more CBD that THC, one where you could go to the supermarket.

Exactly. Of course too, it can interact with psych meds. For example, the dopamine release from THC would be dramatically prolonged /enhanced (in theory) if you were taking a dopamine reuptake inhibitor.
I find the oils a bit easier to dose too (more consistent). Although the effects take a bit longer to set in, and last a bit longer. This is more beneficial, for treating a mood disorder (don't want the 'high' perse and the up/down).

There is the pain/pleasure axis of depression theory (very simplistic) whereby a normal mood is somewhere between depression and euphoria. The idea that you can take the 'right amount' of a euphoriant to feel normal.

The brain dose have 'anandamide' (THC equivalent) which may be out of balance in depression / anxiety. The idea is to just take the right amount of THC to activate the CB1/2 system without euphoria / impairment.

I've been doing well on 1-1.5 mg THC in the evening.

One thing I've noticed is somewhat improved psychomotor function. I know that sound counterintuitive for something that is supposed to 'impair' you.

For example, I had essentially given up on praticing the piano several years ago. Although cognatively I still knew how to play, I just couldn't get my fingers to respond fast enough as I did before mental illness (and medications).

After starting low dose THC, I first noticed the desire to play again and my speed / coordintion has been improving slowly.

Somewhat more generally mj is famous for its connection with music.

IMO it is important to eat it, both for dose control and to get a better CBD/THC ratio.

I agree. The only thing I've found out is that an effective dose of CBD can be a bit costly.

The oils are running around $0.11 per mg of CBD, which is crazy. I need 20-30mg of CBD to notice an effect on anxiety. THC has effects at much lower doses (i.e. much cheaper).
