Extended release ritalin

Posted by beckett2 on July 27, 2018, at 18:47:33

Anyone? Good smooth Ritalin? Because of the hot weather, I usually sweat off my Daytrana patch. This past week+, I don't bother to wear one. Getting things done seems impossible or difficult. I'm a puddle :(

Is Concerta the most advanced? What I really want to avoid are peaks and valleys. For whatever reason, I burn up stimulant much faster than advertised :(

I'm not sure what's out there. Thanks.

Focalin? Maybe that's too different or strong.

I found Focalin to be smoother and more energizing than Ritalin. There is a Focalin XR extended release available.

concerta is a long long acting form of methyphendiate, around 8-10 hours, its .. yes it's in a way advanced because of the extened release mechanism, which is diffrent from spansule form, or Ritilin LA is diffrent

but yes cocnerta's release mechansim is kinda advanced, there's focalin xr, which is d-methyphenidate, it's same thing as comparing amphetamine, and dextro amphetamine, dexamphtamine is stronger and more potent than levo/dextro amphetamine, the main difference is dexedrine and focalin work more on dopamine, their more direct in effects, while as methylphenidate and amphetamine work more on norepinephrine and dopamine, there not as quite potent as the dextro form

methylphenidate would be better for attention, where as dexmethylphenidate is better direct focus and motivation

Thanks everyone. I'll discuss Focalin XR and Concerta with my doctor.

Wishing you a lovely weekend :-)

I couldn't get the same therapeutic effect with extended release. What worked for me was 10mg regular generic methylphenidate every 3 hours or so, with a daily total varying from 40mg to 60mg. I would time the doses so that there weren't any real peaks and no valleys.

hi. 2x daily dosing? i was once, many moons ago, on Ritalin LA capsule in the AM, focalin tablet in the afternoon. worked nicely, until the doses got too high (do watch out for that, btw).

i think there's an all day focalin now. maybe that coupled with an instant release tablet later in the day?
