Sublingual diazepam is very quick.

Yep, it is very fast acting. No doubt you will get told otherwise (eg. a lot of doctors claim lorazepam works more rapidly, but it doesn't).

Diazepam on a empty stomach works much more quickly than most benzos. It is interesting how few doctors realise this.

Faster than sublingual alprazolam?

>Faster than sublingual alprazolam?

Should be similar.

Sublingual administration doesn't speed the onset of alprazolam, however, beyond a placebo effect. Sublingually administered alprazolam taken without water is absorbed more slowly than a plain alprazolam tablet swallowed whole with a glass of water. The reason is that alprazolam and other benzos are absorbed predominantly from the GI tract, not the mouth, and that a glass of water speeds absorption. A tablet swallowed on an empty stomach with a full glass of water will take effect most rapidly.
