Lamictal increase

Posted by Englishman006! on May 24, 2018, at 1:17:27

Hi guys, I just wanted to report the latest deal with lamictal. I have now raised the dose from 200mg to 400mg and then 600mg. I had a brief period of 3 weeks respite from social anxiety on the first increase, 5 weeks on the second and then 2 weeks on the third! The 600mg dose gave me the most relief from all my symptoms. I'm going to England on the 31 April for a holiday and I'm scared I'm going disappoint my friends and family. Any suggestions??? HELP!

i read somewhere that lamotrigine worsens OCD, and types of anxiety, i read all these articles in the past then forget, ill have to dig them up

i was on 400mg of lamotrigine for 1 year, 200mg is good for depression and just keeping it kinda at bay, 400mg is reinforcing mood stabilization, for me i was leveled but i didn't have fun moods, it made me more just get things done, i took 600mg one time about 2 years ago, took the daily 400mg, and taken another thinking it was not taken. I went to school and my anxiety and mood were leveled but it made me unnatural in mood, after class i was too levelized that it was unpleasant

but people who have seizures, i've heard lamotrigine on other boards went up to 800mg in seizure cases, it's classified as a anticonvulsant but it has mood stabilizing properties. That would be a nightmare for me.

you could decrease to 400, and take another mood-stabilization med, talk to doctor about anxiety treatment before you go, just ask as did here.
