I experienced far few side effects with LDN than I did with most antidepressants. My most pronounced side effect was vivid dreams, which I didn't really mind at all.

Good luck with LDN. Are you still going to try neurofeedback?

LDN= Hallucinations? Psychosis? Risk?

Is LDN more likely to cause psychosis than MAOI? or is it less likely?

Because hallucinations is listed as a side effect!!

I've never heard anything about low dose naltrexone causing hallucinations. Could it be that hallucinations are a possible side effect of naltrexone instead of LDN? When naltrexone is used to treat alcoholism or drug addictions, the dosage is 50 mg or higher. The dosage for low dose naltrexone is 2 - 4.5 mg.

Yesterday i took 0.2 mg and after that 0.3mg for a total of .5 mg. Tonight i am going 1mg and tomorrow i am going 1.5mg. No events so far. I am scared sh*tl*ss of side effects given my psychotic experience with MAOI. That was not fun but i dont think that naltrexone carries the same risk as MAOI.

I'd suggest staying at 1.5 mg for a week or so, and then going to 2 for a week, and so on. Even though the maximum dosage for LDN is 4.5 mg, some people feel better on 3 or 3.5 or 2 or 2.5.

>is it risky to try? Could it lead to emergence of psychosis?

The side effect list of naltrexone was developed from the 50mg dose, usually in patients recently withdrawn from high doses opioids. 50mg is a very potent opioid antagonist, and considering that a lot of patients who were given naltrexone still had a degree of opioid withdrawal, the side effects in this situation could be unusual and very unpleasant.

I wouldn't anticipate any such symptoms in someone taking tiny doses. And someone who is not opioid dependent. It's a completely different situation.

Hey friends,

i have taken 1.5 mg for two nights now. I get somewhat more vivid dreams and feel some sort of sedation. But nothing too crazy.

I was told to take 1,5mg for 4 weeks, 3mg for 4 weeks and then 4.5 mg. I dont want to do it more quickly than that.

How long on a dosage until i know if it will have a positive effect? 3 Months?

There's no need to use alcohol as a preservative. If you keep the liquid LDN refrigerated, it will stay fresh for over a month.

I am holding onto LDN. Allergies seem to flare up a bit. It could be due to changes to the immune system. I may have lyme or some other infection. LDN helps this by boosting the immune system.

I have had a positive change. Mood feels brighter. I am not as lazy anymore. I am at 2.5 mg of Naltrexone.

I also take 225 mg of Lithium instead of 117.5 and i eat much healthier.

Most people take it shortly before going to bed. Here's some information about the ideal time to take it.
