no idea.. I have tried all SSRI/SNRI and a MAOI (Nardil) , beta blockers, lyrica, mirtazapine, what else is there do you know? If not I will just go the benzo route.....I have also tried some anti-pshyotic seroquel and zyprexa . I have also tried buspar too.

What about tricyclics? Imipramine? Its hard to say, trying meds is such a gamble sometimes. I dont know the answer to your question but i can imagine it might affect you differently.

You could try Parnate. You could try tricyclis. As far as i know benzos only work when you dont take them too often.

hi. -all- psych drugs alter brain chemistry. they don't -fix- anything. that's not necessarily a bad thing, its just...keep in mind; all the drugs "work" by taking what is probably more or less normal brain chemistry and disrupting it, resulting in changes to mood, activity level, behavior, etc.

i don't know about social phobia, but antidepressants aren't so great, as a class, for depression and many other indications. not trying to be a debbie downer, its just...in severe depression, they easily outperform placebo. less severe depressive states, the performance is far less impressive.

have you tried wellbutrin w/ remeron? or effexor xr w/ remeron? the 2nd combo is nicknamed "california rocket fuel," and it helps some people with severe and/or "treatment-resistant" depression. I suppose one could ask about Cymbalta, instead of the effexor xr (would make getting the dose correct a lot easer...).

do be careful, though. id personally strongly advise against using any tranquilizer/antipsychotic, if you can avoid it. TD is often irreversible, even if the drug is discontinued.

id avoid tca drugs, personally. i took tofranil-PM (just a cleaned up version of Tofranil) for a while, and...whoa. it lifted my mood a bit, but it came at a cost, plus the drugs are very toxic, both in overdose and over long term, full dose use.

ok. hope this helps.

listen I dont care what label they give a medication all I look at is the Pharmacology of the drug. Could be a drug for alzhimerz that Iwould take cause im intrested in the mechanism of action. Memantine worked great for my Social anxiety. It almost killed it . And I dont mess with SSRI/SNRI (i have already tried them) but by believe is I have high serotonin and serotonin is the worst in high levels. Memantine regulates the amygdala which is why I think it worked for me. Its an antagonist on alpha 7 nicontic acid .. so is wellbutrin (have yet to try wellbutrin) I will combine the two and see how I feel.
