Imipramine had absolutely no sexual side effects for me. Clomipramine did, though.

Hi Scott,

would imipramine be safe with my other meds?

googling psychemeds is the most frustrating activity out there. All you see is people suffering and the reviews done by people that get paid to write them. 2 in 3 drug reviews are from pharma reps. If not more.

I can't see any negative drug interactions. In the past, imipramine was the gold standard by which other drugs were compared. I would just mention that imipramine can produce significant anticholinergic side effects including dry mouth, blurred vision, and constipation. Have you tried any other tricyclics yet? Nortripyline produces milder side effects and works well with Effexor.

Have you ever been manic?

Have i ever been manic is debatable. I was psychotic at times from MAOI. And imipramine only causes sexual side effects in 5-10% of people?

SLS, can you describe your mania from anti depress

SLS, can you describe your mania from anti depressants? i have been trough this aswell for 5 years, i taught i never would get better then i stumbled upon schizophrenia.com and tried their Sarcosine from Brainvitaminz (im not working for them its just me Jeroen) after 2 months i had to quit it, it also is better then Sipralexa, strong anti depressant, and anti psychotic, i quit because i upped my dose and got vibrations in my penis every bloody 15 minutes, and it didnt go away after a few days

you do need to be very carefull when taking this with meds like seroquel for your heart, ilearned it the hard way it also doesnt work with Clozapine, they cancel each other out, sais enough.

It has saved me and ive been trough a one year relationship i was lucky to meet new girlfriend but we recently broke up, now shes in the hospital but shes better now too she didnt sleep for 12+ days straight!

Hey Jeroen,

as far as i know we are not talking about SLS but about me.

The manias included a lot of talking. But also crying. My mood was very unstable. They were all medication induced so...

I am thinking wellbutrin right now.

It was actually a severe, psychotic mania. The two main components were religiosiity and ideas of reference. I also had pressure of speech and spoke too loud. Racing thoughts. Delusions without hallucinations. It was intense.

they are gone this type of hallucination for 2 years nows, i tried Sarcosine for 2 months with miraculous results, its an amino acid with stronger anti depressant properties also anti psychotic, its affordable and it works on Glutamate, it has the potential to reverse brain damage psychotic medication induced traumas... it clearly did... i am living proof

Hi Jeroen,

i too tried sarcosine and it helped a bit but unfortunately it gave me akathisia. I am back on the meds bandwagon. I have upped the trazodone from 50mg to 100mg. I still want to get rid of alot of the tranquilizers.

I guess now i will really know if Trazodone gives me OCD.

I would be very cautious about wellbutrin. It makes me hypomanic, especially in the first week or two.

I only go hypomanic with meds, but I have a roommate who is definitely bipolar and currently seems manic to me. It's a bit off the medication topic, but I would appreciate any help in dealing with him. He's on 40 mg Prozac, I don't know about a mood stabilizer, and uses alcohol & other drugs. He's hard to communicate with right now.
