SAM-e add on to prozac

Posted by rjlockhart37 on December 9, 2017, at 22:02:53

i've started taking it, the good thing i've noticed it did enhance antidepressant potency of fluoxetine, but the thing that gets me .... i take prozac in the morning, and it does keep me out of the dark dark depression, on max dose, but taken it long time and my brain adapted to it, the first years i noticed a big chnage in getting me out of depression but the natural way the body works is tolerance, and adapation .... i notice if i don't take it, im in slumps big time, but now its just like it makes me feel normal, deopression is in grandmother's family, my grandmother had deprerssion bad, but she never would go the doctor, she's was old school because she used to tell me they would lock her up in asylum, like that in 1930s and 40s....she still started in the time period, never telling the doctor....
but it has an anti-depressant, im not euphoric or happy but i just feel balanced and normal, it helped the fluoxetine to work better..i just hope i stop being tolerant, and be back to normal

probably an easier option than another prescription. having said that, some people do well on Wellbutrin added to ssri treatment. buspar is also used for some people. I suppose Remeron might be a valid option, too.

SAM-e does have anti-depressant properties, but its not like making you in a happy mood, you just.....feel more content, or balanced but some people don't respond to it

i just noticed it enhanced fluoxtine, but adding wellbutrin may be a option, but im on 80mg fluoxetine, maximum dose, and over the years i grew tolerant to it, it worked but it didnt provide that same improvement it did for first couple years, but if i don't take it i get extremly depressed

thinking about adding Roboxetine but my doctor refuses to use it, thinking it would cause mania, which is not gonna happen, its difficult having to manage your symptoms without the help from a doctor, having to find other ways to treat depression

I dont feel balanced on SAM-e at all. Your mileage may vary like dr-bob says.
