most powerfull SERTONIN BLOCKER/REDUCER

Posted by farshad on September 25, 2017, at 9:33:59

Hello guys I am desperate. I need a medication that can block or reduce my serotonin lvls. Which medicine would be the most powerfull that targets the most serotonin receptors? I came here because I know you guys know a lot about Medicine. At the moment Im looking at risperdal which blocks 9 serotonn receptors and I think there are 21 ?anyway if you guys can help me out I would really appericate it. Some guys suggested metergoline and LSD but I dont know about that so if you guys can help me understand this better. I dont want to try LSD as I wanna be able to take it everyday which I cant with lsd . But yeah I need help....

the main ones that are used for immediate serotonin toxicity is: cyproheptadine, it is s strong serotonin antagonist antihistamine used for allergies and migraines, others similar Methysergide which is used for migraine headaches, and tertatolol which is a beta blocker. Thorazine is used also. clozapine too

I tried cypro it didnt work then I read cypro only gets rid of the effect of high serotonin it doesent actually get rid of it.
Methysergide looks like it just blocks 1 receptor 5ht2c .tertatolol just blocks 1 too.
thorazine is weaker but clozapine blocks 10 Serotonin receptors...hm.. Damn ..

What *proof do you have that your serotonin levels are high?

Taking "the most powerful serotonin blocker" is a major shot in the dark & potentially dangerous (eps if you are considering LSD which is not a serotonin blocker).

Also, cyproheptadine *IS* a serotonin blocker! It does the exact same thing as Risperdal does (i.e. antagonist / block serotonin receptors).

Why do you want to block serotonin? What are the symptoms you are trying to deal with?

some of the migrane meds block certain receptors, serotonin i guess in certain areas have bad effects, just like too much dopamine causes paranoia, and thought disorders, delusions
when i was in high school i didnt want anything to do with serotonin, i thougth it was a wishy - happy , irrelvant to getting things done, more for enhancement of dopamine, i was more with getting motivated and doing things, when i started prozac i notieced a warmish feeling, but not high or euphoric, then when it was increased to 40mg i noticed some improvement of mood, but higher levels, prozac can create a feeling that everything is just "ok" smoothed over but too much serotonin can lower motivation, a=thebad moods were not as deep as i had them when was earlier life, now it just kinda keeps me at baseline, serotonin is not always a mood chemical, it can have bad effects, im just now figuring out the recepotors, originally thought nuerotransmitters were just released and thaat was it, only out of a single thing, now im leraning they all have diffrent receptors and ports....that effect things diffrently

so its either risperdal, mianserin or clozapine. the two last block 10 receptors I think if not more on mianserin.

There is no readily available test to determine whether your serotonin is high or low.

However, it doesn't sound like you're ready to explain why you believe your serotonin levels are too high.

did I ask about a test to show my serotonin lvls? Why I belive my serotonin lvls are high is a long story but and I rather not because I see no point in telling you as it will not help with the question being asked here which is the best med to block/reduce serotonin. If I belive my serotonin is high then let me belive that, I dont question your beliefes. But by now I probably hurt your feelings and you will say something among the lines well I dont gotta help you either. All I ask for is simple. the best med to block /reduce serotonin that I can get from doc . Not this lsd stuff.

No you did not. However, it is irresponsible for I, or anybody else here to 'recommend' drugs to address an issue that is (more or less) clinically impossible to test for.

>Why I belive my serotonin lvls are high is a
> long story

That's great. But again, just because you may have responded adversely to an SSRI (or tryptophan or whatever) this is not necessarily an indication of high serotonin levels.

>but and I rather not because I see no point in
> telling you as it will not help with the >question being asked here which is the best med >to block/reduce serotonin.

I already told you - cyproheptadine. Risperdal doesn't do anything that cyproheptadine doesn't (except also block dopamine receptors)

>But by now I probably hurt your feelings and you >will say something among the lines well I dont

I've already told you all I know. It's not as if you can walk out to the serotonin blocker tree and eat an apple.

>All I ask for is simple. the best med to >block /reduce serotonin that I can get from >doc . Not this lsd stuff.

Who here recommended LSD? Post a link to where somebody here recommended LSD!

If you're not going to explain your logic then there is not much we can do.

Most of what happens here is symptom based. We're not neuroscientists. We discuss similar symptoms, what they might be, and what might help.

You likely don't want to post your logic because you are concerned that somebody might point out why (or why not) it is flawed (which, of course, would actually be a very constructive process).

I asked what your symptoms/concerns about serotonin were, not to judge you. I am not an expert at all on neurotransmitters. Just wondered whether this was a solution you've hit upon that others might benefit from. Generally, on this list, people are pretty forthright about the problems they want to solve and their experience/research/intuition about how to solve them, which is a great benefit to others on the list.

You don't need to block your serotonin.

But if you really want to, try cyproheptadine.

tried cyproheptadine didnt work I belive because these anti serotonin drugs they dont actually reduce serotonin they just stops it from havin an effect so your base serotonin is still the same.
something called fenclonine actually gets rid of serotonin this is somth i wanna try .

Blocking serotonin receptors has the same effect as reducing serotonin.

nop because the serotonin is still in the brain.

but it doesent reduce or get rid of the actual serotonin its still there. fenclonine deplets serotonin it actually gets rid of the serotonin.

Serotonin in the brain is not usually degraded after use, but is collected by serotonergic neurons by serotonin transporters on their cell surfaces.

The serotonin transporter removes serotonin from the synaptic cleft back into the synaptic boutons. Thus, it terminates the effects of serotonin and simultaneously enables its reuse by the presynaptic neuron.

You're overfocused on serotonin.

Try the Topomax.

Eric
