I tried Vraylar (cariprazine). It made my depression *much* worse.
It takes a very long time for Vraylar to leave the body. I think the half-life is about a week. Because of this, if you respond negatively to Vraylar, you might not recover so quickly.
Have you tried Abilify yet?
It is important for me to comment that you might respond very well to Vraylar, despite my negative experience with it. I have also tried Rexulti (brexpiprazole). I felt better for a week before feeling significantly worse. For me, Abilify is the best drug of the three DA partial agonists.

does abilify cause weight gain in you and have you had inner restlessness on it....I may have to switch because of cost

Yes.

I had just a hint of it when I first started Abilify at a dosage of 20 mg/day. It disappeared quickly - less than a week. Akathisia-type side effects are variable between individuals. I did not experience any akathisia when switching from Abilify to other APs.
