thanks for the list. im not looking for similar to babble. I have come to the conclusion that i really dont want to be drugged for the rest of my life. And i want to be supported in that which is not going to happen here or on those other websites.

No, please don't leave.. Can't you start a new trend here and post more in the "alternative"-section?

I will def support you!

Can i ask you a question before you leave?

What support do you look for?

Hi, Lamdage.

> thanks for the list. im not looking for similar to babble. I have come to the conclusion that i really dont want to be drugged for the rest of my life. And i want to be supported in that which is not going to happen here or on those other websites.

I support your decision to attempt to live without medication. Why wouldn't I? It is something that I hope for myself.

I'm not sure what you are expecting to happen when you announce to the community your decision to discontinue drug-treatment. You might find that people here will also support your decision. My guess is that you can use Psycho-Babble as a resource to help you discontinue pharmacotherapy and to look for alternative treatments if that is what you wish to do. Perhaps the Psycho-Babble Alternative board can be of help.

If, in the unfortunate event that you feel the need to restart drug treatment, you might want to start all over rather than returning immediately to your current regime.

Good luck.

I am not out of this world. I just focus on websites that are specifically for psychiatric drug withdrawal now as my primary line of support.

They seem to be smart. Like they recommend to cut only 10% off the previous dosage every 4 to 6 weeks. For antipsychotics maybe even slower they said. So each step is smaller than the previous one. You either make liquid from crushed pills or use a 1mg sensitive scale and empty capsules.

I plan to get rid of Trazodone first. It is recommended to withdraw only one drug at a time. Since i have Trazodone in my drug dispenser i am having not so funny OCD traits. Very debilitating because they alienate me from my surroundings. Not worth it.

So i went from 75mg to 68mg december 21. I hope i will still have motivation for sports after i did the taper.

Merry Christmas BTW. I hope you are not letting christmas stress you out. I dont.

I don't think people are hostile to cutting back drugs. I would be happy to hear how you are doing as you taper off. I myself have been tapering off parnate, though I go back and forth as my depression rears it's ugly head again. But, like you, I don't like the idea of spending my life on meds.

BTW, please don't switch to the alternative board. There are barely enough posters/posts to support this board and most alternatives (not all) are firmly in the realm of useful, or potentially useful meds. The fact that drug companies don't promote them and doctors don't prescribe them doesn't mean we should just cut off consideration of alternative treatments and relegate it to a separate board.

Also in the realm of alternatives (to pharmaceuticals) are various types of talk therapy which, in many cases, have as good or batter track record than drugs. I would like to see more discussion of this.

Yes, I know - go to psychology. But psychology is dormant. The action is all on this board.

I think it sounds great!
I'm totally serious.

The best decision i have done is to withdrawn from one regimen i had that i was surely ill on, and that was:

Haloperidol 5mg
quetiapine fast acting 600mg
clomipramine 75mg
bupropion 300mg
Promethazine 100mg
Levodopa and biperiden as needed

I was a zombie with EXTREMELY much problems, i was hypersexual, had obsessions, had halluciantions and so on and so on!

When i wean of them drugs i felt like i was walking on clouds, i was in such bad shape from the medicines but i dropped 15kg after the first month and i started gymming and started sport and so on.

I totally think you're doing the right thing, cause you need to see what drugs you really need and what drugs that are just there causing harm.

I though suggest that you keep 7.5mg olanzapine, but other than that, i think you should wean off everything else!

I do not(!) think you need to do it so slow, but that is your decision.

I did it cold turkey on one day, that was not a good idea, it was hell for one month.

I think you could half it directly, then go slow like 2 month.

It is how we do it in Sweden and it works!

I can help you alot with tips about weaning of medicines cause i have done it like 10 times!

Kind regards / J

PS.
You need to surround yourself with people you can trust when you wean of the drugs, cause you need to be very careful with that you may become psychotic when you have like 50mg quetiapine left, and that is why i think you should keep 7.5mg olanzapine, cause then you don't need to worry. Olanzapine is the best antipsychotic out there close after clozapine!

And i still think that you should quit EVERYTHING and get on Clozapine 200mg or Amisulpride 300mg. Just that, cause it can be that it is the only thing you need, and 200mg Clozapine/300mg Amisulpride is like 7.5mg olanzapine in side effects but a hell of a lot more antipyschotic!

I am going to start clozapine in januari, after i have done the blood works, just because i just wanna have 2 medicines, and no more!

Methadone 100mǵ and Clozapine 200mg, no more!

Maybe Amisulpride instead cause of the metabolic side effects.

Love/ J

It might be a good idea to make Zyprexa the last drug that you remove, although your current dosage is a bit high. Zyprexa can act for you as a buffer of sorts. Coming off of any of the other drugs you are taking might cause a withdrawal rebound psychosis or depression. Zyprexa might mitigate these reactions. It is hard to know.

my biggest problem right now is harm OCD. I think the first drug to remove should be the one that is most prone to causing or worsening OCD which may in fact be Zyprexa.

Oops. I think you mentioned that in a previous post. Sorry.

You sure are logical - and patient.

Regardless of where you end up, I think you are taking positive steps forwards.
