Anyone on Vraylar?

Posted by ihatedrugs1 on May 16, 2016, at 16:39:52

Hi, my pdoc gave me a coupon for a starter pack of Vraylar. I'm currently taking Abilify 2-4 mg but still have unresolved symptoms of depression. My diagnosis is MDD/treatment resistant. I am at my wit's end with trying so many medications and achieving minimal response. Is anyone in this forum taking or have taken Vraylar? If so, how is it going? I'm also undergoing ECT and am yet to find relief. It's like nothing works and I'm getting so tired of this suffering.

Thanks

I think that is some threads discussing vraylar!

Can i ask you if the ECT is helping you out in some way?

According to some of my friends it has been a dramatic change in depression after some ECT sessions, positive that is.

I wanted to try something to replace Abilify for lack of robust effect. My depression became much worse on Vraylar (cariprazine). I have bipolar depression, not MDD.

Someone else reported doing very well on Vraylar. Be cognizant of the fact that Vraylar has an extrememly long half-life (1-3 weeks), and it takes at least a week for levels to stabilize after a dosage increase.

I am going to ask my doctor about Reluxti (brexpiprazole).

Hi, sorry for the delayed response. I have undergone 19 ect treatment and am yet to feel any robust relief from it. Some days are better but others worst. This upcoming Friday is #20 and my husband and I are going to ask the doctor what his plan is. Despite my lack of meaningful response, I've seen first hand how others with a deeper and worst depression than mine have responded positively. Some as early as 4 treatments. I really trust this doctor and the set up at my hospital is pretty friendly. Something I have noticed is that my energy level is close to normal and that has helped me tremendously. Despite getting bilateral, my memory has not been as affected, however, the way I process information has slowed down though some improvement is palpable. Hopefully, my mood will eventually continue to improve.
Let me know if I could be of further help.

Oh no, Vraylar made your depression worse? What a bummer. I'm afraid to try it so who knows what I'll do. I tried Rexulti and it didn't do anything for me; I wonder if I'm giving these meds enough time to exert therapeutic level. Good thing about Rexulti is I don't remember any side effects from it; good or bad.
Hopefully, Rexulti will work on you and Vraylar or ECT will work on me.
Take care

I'm so sorry, i missed your answer..

No when i read it i get a little worried because i haven't seen you around since 18 may..

How are you?

I always get a little worried when people disappear from this forum and always hope for the best!

Please update us on how the ETC is going and if you have gotten some relief from vraylar or if you chose another substance instead..

I hope everything is well!

kind regards / J
