And not get scared?
I've just been wondering how many people have incredibly weak or absent emotional responses like me. I wonder how often psychiatrists have to handle a case like mine.

Driving with eyes closed......hmmm.
To me, its not whether you get scared, its whether you realize (logically) the inherent danger in such an act. I would say, that you either don't realize the danger, are suicidal, or are looking to evoke an protective emotional response - in other words putting yourself in a perceived place of danger to see if (on some deeper level) your brain values its survival more than you feel on a day to day basis. This would be a similar behavior to cutting or self injury.
However, if the former is more true, have you ever considered 3x espresso for a rush?
Oh sure, excessive consumption of caffeine might lead to hypertension and an ensuing shortening of lifespan, but arguably safer than driving with ones eyes closed.
So to answer your question, I don't know whether I can drive with my eyes closed and not get scared. However, I don't care cause (at the moment) I value my life enough not to consider such ventures.
I recommend a dopamine enhancing medication.

Well with such a weak emotional response its hard to appreciate things. But the normal reaction is if you want to try closing your eyes while driving you can't do it any longer than a split second.
Cyproheptadine gave much of emotional responsed back in the past, I believe throug indirectly disinhibiting dopamine release. I went from being completely relaxed when closing my eyes while drivingto thnking "HOLY SH*T! If I closed my eyes. Cyproheptadine stopped working though, and I've slowly regressed backwards.
Normal dopamine increasing meds don't affect me. But after talking to SLS and a few othets about lamictals indirect effect on increasing dopamine, I think I'm going to give it a try.

To give you a better idea of what's going on, the pupils in my eyes don't react to light anymore either. I've read this can be from not being affected by things going on around you. Such as being able to close my eyes when driving.
These problems started after taking Miraped for a few weeks at the end of 2009

I have enjoyed (for want of a better word) switching off my lights when driving on dark nights on country roads.
Best not to do it for too long.
