you could try effexor or wellbutrin but wellutrin can cause anxiety in people who have anxiety problems.

I took Cymbalta in 2003-2004 at 40mg I think. It did raise my mood fairly well, but if you have problems with it you should look into trycicic antidepressants becuase they do the same thing that Cymbata does which is increase serotonin and norephrinprine.

I don't understand does you doc not want you to decrease the doses? I once had a pdoc that had me stop cold turkey the 50mg of low dose luvox and upped benzos to the highest doses ever took and didn't sleep for two weeks. Went to Er and the docs said go back to the luvox and low dose benzos and I slept. So I do think it could be very aweful!!!Phillipa

it may be depending on what you are tolerated with Cymbalta. I rerember I went straight off cymbalta and on wellbutrin in 2004. It didnt really notice any withdawl effects from it. But of course that was 8 years ago.

I don't always have withdrawal when I cold turckey. When a med has long since pooped out and I finnally give it up I never get withdrawal. I don't know but assume the lack of withdrawal is related to the med has pooped out.

My thought is the nausia a side effect from the med or a side effect from a side effect? Constpation is a side effect and the nausia could be due to your stomache not emptying cause it has wait for what's ahead of it to move on. I'm curous about how the doc came up with 6 days.

I've been trying to deal with this issue with metimusil lots of water and a high fiber diet but it hasn't helped. I use sugearless gum for the sorbitol and that has been the only thing that solvs the problem.

I was given tegritol for trigeminal neuralgia and I was so sick to my stomach from it after many weeks of sick stomach I had to switch to neurontin.

Torrid interesting about the theory of poop out and no withdrawal could explain a lot of the meds I've stopped some soon others later. Phillipa

I definately have noticed this about withdrawal and poopout. I wonder if a med is not working what is there to withdraw from. Of course there is much more to it then that.

I did just that very thing, not on purpose: I was sick and coughing nonstop, so much that I gagged and vomited, so no meds got kept down.

The only thing I noticed were the brain zaps. Feels like your head is getting an electric shock. It wasn't too bad ( but then again I had pneumonia at the time, so maybe it was in comparison).

I've heard that expression before, brain zaps, and I don't know that means...anybody

well i decided i did not to go that route.....went from 8oo mg of tegretol which i was on 3 weeks in split doses...to 600 mg --400 at night 200 in morning ...in 5 days the nausea is almost gone.....i'm starting to question my dr's method ...i think it is just too extremme.....any way anxiety high on 60 cymbalta...100 lamictal....600 tegretol.... 2 klonopin....mood good ...ocd not bad just bad anxiety......he's pissing me off that he won't change klonopin......maybe to replace cymbalta ...with another ssri...maybe luvox....or maybe its time for a new dr.

It just feels like a little shock in your head, about the level you get when you touch a car door handle unexpectedly. Very odd feeling, but not painful. But that's me; a lot of people have much more severe symptoms, and as I said, the peneumonia pretty much blocked everything else. If I were you I might not choose that route either. An extreme solution which might not even fix the problem.
