How much time to wait for a med to work?

Posted by tepi on July 10, 2011, at 0:25:23

Its been like 6 days on my meds

Invega - 3mg (AP)
Valdoxa - 25 mg (AD)

I have had a hard effect , somnolence worst than seroquel , this is only in the mornings , I dont know if it is caused by ivenga or valdoxa but it is so hard. I m also having sexual side effets ) not as hard as with SSRIS, but im having them)

I just dont know how much time I could wait and then say,, this med its not working or in the other side this med is working..... For me it is not working. Im looking for something to cure my social phobia and If I dont interact with people the meds are not working , that is simple
Neurontin maybe prosocial somedays , I liked that
I dont like the way im feeling today on these meds.. maybe I shoudl wait more and more

Probably Invega.

Valdoxan causes a sort of hangover, but it has a pleasant feel (or did once) to me.

Did you start them both at the same time? Too bad you didn't start one for a few weeks then add the other, it would be easier to tell what is doing what.

Early treatment with any psych med can cause side effects that may eventuallyt disappear. Also, I imagine, at least with Valdoxan, it's going to take a few weeks to start to offer some real therapeutic benefit.

I think 6 weeks would be a more appropriate trial period than 6 days, the chances of anything happening in six days are pretty slim
