I hope so. One thing to remember is that you may not get an immediate response to any substance. You need to give things as much time to work as you can tolerate. Try to stick with the glycine as long as you can.

Are you still on Abilify? I am of the belief that Abilify can reduce the therapeutic effects of other antipsychotics.

Glycine in medium to high doses, sometimes low doses, can provide immediate calming. But the true therapeutic effect will only happen over time, likely a couple or more months. Glycine has good potential. Take the smallest dose necessary to not get any undesired effects from it, and just keep taking it for weeks and months. Slowly try to increase the dose. Let your body tell you where to settle for a while or where to increase.

That said, I don't see glycine being the magic cure you need. It's too bad your hands are so tied, because if your treatment could involve some of the things I am thinking of (mostly non-meds) I think you could be feeling 30% to 80% better in a short time.

Anyway, give glycine some time. Don't overdo it and don't abandon it too soon. Give it a chance to see what happens. At least then you'lll know. Right now it is extremely too early to know.

I would personally be thrilled to see you be able to try something antibiotic or antimicrobial. Those kinds of toxins are really tough foes to do battle with, and in my personal opinion are a common overlooked cause of treatment reistance as well as unexplained sensitivities. People get sick of me saying this stuff though, so I'll cut it short for now. Weird though, the ones who listened and took action showed improvement like they hadn't seen in a long time.

Wishing you well Jereon. Wish there was more we could all do to help. You are one tough cookie and you deserve a lot of respect for that.

Jeroen,

Now that you are taking glycine did you stop the other APs? Abilify and seroquel? Maybe you would feel better off of them?

I believe that Jeroen should talk to his doctors about discontinuing Abilify. Abilify can reduce the effectiveness of other antipsychotics.

I would like to see Jeroen on a lower dosage of Invega or Risperdal and the addition of 400mg of Seroquel.

Hi Jeroen. Hang in there.

my prvious doctor forced me on 400 mg, every night i had fake heart attack for 1 hour
for 6 months, and i didnt have effect from the anti psychotic, any relief at all well maybe 10%

madness, just madness, and before i was not crazy

Re: cant take 400 mg of seroquel - How about 50mg? » Jeroen

What dosage of Seroquel feels good to you?

Your heart palpitations are easily understandable. The metabolite of Seroquel is a potent NE reuptake inhibitor - just like desipramine or reboxetine - two drugs that would give anyone palpitations.

* I have seen a combination of Risperdal 3mg and Seroquel 50-100mg snap someone out of a psychotic depression, but only when Abilify was excluded from her treatment regime.

So, what more can you tell us about the glutamate drug?
