How's your energy? I thought parnate alone should sky-rocket energy.

I'm happy for you, but I am also jealous. It will be about three -four weeks before I can try the Parnate. I saw my pdoc today and he wants me to come of the cymbalta slowly and then be off it completly for 2 weeks prior to the Parnate. I guess I will just have to wait. I hope you continue to enjoy success with your cocktail!

I'm just coming up to 6 weeks on Parnate (ramped slowly up to 50mg/day) plus nortriptyline 25mg-50mg at night. They haven't done much for me, except make me tired

Fred:

I'm sorry to hear that, but it's just what happened to me, also.

At first I added caffeine. I started with one tablespoon and took my blood pressure. It went up some but not much. So each day I took more coffee. Within a week I could do as much coffee as I wanted!! That helped the fatigue. Then I started adding half pills of caffeine over the day like No-Doz. That helped, also. Then I started on Provigil (also trying Nuvigil too because I got a free 30 day supply from "Xubex"). That helps me a lot but I don't know how I'll afford it.

Anyway, now I take 100mg Provigil and 30mg of Parnate as soon as I get up in the morningin (and of course a big cup of coffee), then I take another 30mg Parnate and 100mg of Provigil at 2pm (sometimes as late as 6pm if I forget). I take 25mg of Nortript at 6 or 7pm. I have no trouble sleeping.

I see my pdoc Monday and he might want me to take more Nortrip, but I don't want to get tired.

I feel like the Provigil and and Parnate work really well together. I think some people just need the extra uumph.

I now don't have any side effects except dry mouth.

Hang in there Fred! I know it will work as time goes by, you adjust and you figure out how to tweek it for your individual body!

Good luck!

Gayle

Thanks Gayle and Ace I've been 6 weeks on Parnate, and nortrip most of that time. Now I'm on 10mg of Parnate every other day. The theory is I've sent my MAO down by 80% now I just need to keep it there, but without a test of MAO level (level where? Serum?? Amygdala?) it's all a bit hit and miss. Nortrip 50g in evening

I have a strange side effect. My natural tinnitus is much louder and it whooshes when I move my eyes. This coicides with a strange "ebbing away" feeling in the head. I've had this before but I can't remember what with
