Has anyone experienced uncontrollable anger attacks? These "rages" seem to occur "out of the blue" for me; are uncharacteristic, and are unable to be stopped. They are unprovoked bouts of anger that result in screaming, anger outbursts, and even throwing things at times. Anyone else experience this? If so, what helps? I am desperate for help! This is ruining my life- thinking of ending it if I can not find a cure. I am a parent and my child is living with Mommy dearest now! Please help! Please respond! Anger management classes are a joke- as I am not angry over anything - it's like someone else is controlling me! Please help! I am currently taking Librium to deal with it to no avail. AP's AD's, and Mood stabilizers have not helped to date (this is a new symptom though- within the last 9 months). I will call pdoc tonight (saw him yesterday- added Librium) but that doesnt seem to be helping. I am in need of some serious help and fast!

Answered your above thread just had a thought since hormones can have such a strong impact on so many women any chance you could be in peri menopause. I'd suggest getting hormones tested seriously. As peri can start in 30's believe it or not. Phillipa

I had hormones tested about a year ago and all were "normal". I am as regular as the calendar so I doubt it's prei-menapause but who knows- I still dont trust tests.... thanks for responding!

Are you taking any other meds that might be causing them? For example, I know loads of people get fits of rage on Remeron for some reason.

You said you were bpII right? I've been reading a lot about anxiety lately; anger can be a manifestation of extreme anxiety for some. I never knew this till recently.
That seems like an odd choice of a med for your situation. I really hope it works for you.

you're taking no ADs at all right now? Reason I ask is the Wellbutrin as well as some others can cause bad irritablility and even rage in some.

Diagnosis isn't bpII it's mood disorder nos with adhd and anxiety; however, there is some evidence of mixed state bpII but since never a hypmania or mania they are saying mood d/o nos.....
I am not taking any antidepressants cause of side effects.....
so far it seems to work a little bit and for a brief period of time..... kind of like I am getting minimal releif for a few hours at a time.... will add new post......
