Alternative to Nardil for AD? (please read 1st)

Posted by Enigma on April 5, 2009, at 20:06:53

I'm bipolar, so, SSRI's are out - ineffective.
Already tried Parnate with no luck.
Selegeline worked a little, but not as good as Nardil.
Vivactyl from what I remember, made me "crazy".
Cymbalta sent me to the suicide ward.

The Nardil side effects are killing me. Insomnia, Sleep Disturbance, etc.
I need a great AD for treatment resistant Bipolar II
TIA

Did you ever try Lamictal?

Ya, and it did nothing for me. We're gonna try a real old school med, Remeron, which the doc likes, but I just can't imagine is as strong as Nardil. I'v tried so many AD's, I've lost count.

What stinks is that Easter, which our family does as a big family gathering (and I hate the hosts this year) I'll be AD free and I'm not quite sure what's going to happen. Then I'll need the 2 week wash out period before starting Remeron.
