Does anyone know why focalin would help vs. exacerbate symptoms?
It seems counterintuitive but I have found by accident that my son's focalin seems to calm me down and stop the "spinning head" of vacillating hypomania/agitation. We share a pill-splitter, and I took one of his focalin pills by accident (I don't have an ADHD dx).
It almost feels like it "stops" and "re-sets" me. It seems to work like a prn ...
I am taking Lamictal, gabapentin and clonazepam. PRN clonazepam just makes me tired b/doesn't actually halt the experience like this drug did. I would have expected to feel jittery and have increased agitation, anxiety, etc.

just because your doc didn't diagnose you with adhd doesn't mean you don't have it.
