> - ScottYeah, there's a lot of confusion, but they're not the same thing. The 'abortion day after' med would be "Plan B"/levonorgestrel, but it's not actually an 'abortion pill.' It works by preventing the sperm from reaching the ovum (through partially blocking the fallopian tubes with extra mucus production, I believe) - so you never become pregnant in the first place. That's why you have to take it in the first day or so.

Thanks that's a great description of how that med work. You never hear how the pill works just that it prevents preganancy. Phillipa
