Deplin again. Any new users??????

Posted by Phillipa on March 20, 2008, at 20:59:45

I know there was a lot of talk when Deplin first came out. I myself got a prescription and took it for only a little over two weeks. On day three a good feeling then it went away. Anyone having good results with it as thinking of taking remainder starting tomorrow. Thanks Phillipa

Just because no one responds it doesn't mean that there isn't hope.

Although there never *was* anyone who did well on it (including youself), so I don't know if it worth trying or not.

Still doesn't mean there isn't hope.

I think it's also a part of the cocktail of two other posters as well. Try googling Deplin as it was all over the board at one time. Thanks for responding. Phillipa

Well, I don't really care about Deplin to be honest.

i may have missed posts i guess tho.

it never "helped" me. just increased dreams. not nightmares. my dreams are often humiliating and disorienting. makes interacting with people even stranger and risky. i don't usually dream much, the increased dreams are still here, but not as prominent. i still don't like it very much. i figure increased dreams would be a good thing if my thinking ability were healthier to begin with. i may take it again. to maybe see if coupling it with P5P and/or NAC is more helpful, or something. unfortunately, i tried starting a job now, that i am likely to lose. feeling desperate, but i shouldn't have ignored that it was likely to end like this.

there is also reason to want to know if methylfolate is proven not to be carcinogenic, given the high dose folic acid connection.

I'm doing very well on Deplin. Just to make sure it was a required component of my treatment regime, I discontinued it and allowed myself to relapse. After restarting it, I recovered. It is my conjecture that Deplin works best with an MAOI, and will possibly recapture an antidepressant response after poop-out. This stuff works for me.

My doctor feels that Lamictal + Deplin makes a good combination.

As I have indicated in the past, one needs to be on Deplin for a few months before a robust response is gleaned from it. If there is a "blip" transient improvement in the first week, that is probably a good sign that it will eventually work.

It is necessary to have patience with Deplin.
At this point, I am unaware of its use as monotherapy.

Currently:

Nardil 90mg
nortriptyline 150mg
Lamictal 200mg
Abilify 20mg
Deplin 7.5mg

Scott thanks. Does the lamictal have to be that high? Think it would work with the luvox low dose or a higher dose of luvox. As deplin doesn't scare me. And day three felt good. I'm glad you answered was hoping you would. Love Phillipa
