Jerry,

I remember you from 2001 onwards as Jerrympls (I think). I'm not feeling great myself so made me feel worse to see your note.

I thought you'd gone off to live a happy life on opiates.

I know nothing I can say can help as far as your depression goes but I do hope your circumstances get better. Depression has an awful knock on effect doesn't it?? Some people say they wouldn't wish depression on their worst enemy, well I know I would. I couldn't think of a better punishment, years and years of depression and anxiety.

I thought yougottahavehope's post was really good and encouraging and you should bear it in mind.

Also, keep trying new treatments, I know you've tried so many already but there is always Deep Brain Stimulation (that sounds something like the line from Casablanca). It looked really promising to me.

What meds are you taking? And did you take abilify? What kind of response did you get?

OPiate augmentation has been the lifesaver in my treatment. I'm still on 5mg 4x daily and it still works. Just unfortunate how depression can overwhelm things and come at your like a title wave.

I'm doing OK for now. I see my Psych Doc on Monday and will ask about swtching to Ability. I worried he'll insist on switching to Geodon - he can be subborn.

I thank you all for being so caring. Im so alone....it helps tho.

I have heard folks rave about both, so you just never know...

I hate it that you are lonely. If you can get a boost from your meds you will get back into the swing of it. Keep the faith.

Jerry,

Are you feeling depressed then because of your circumstances or would you be feeling depressed regardless of your circumstances?

In what way does the opiate help?

Thanks....Denise

I wish I had more of a choice. My doc was adament on trying Geodon. However if I cannot tolerate this I will switch to it.

It knocks me out for 8 hours solid then when I get up I can't sit still. The Klonopin I am on doesn't seem to help. I will call my doc and ask him what to do,

I'm worried about this neurological dmage that others have posted about - can anyone tell me more??? Last thing I need is more brain damage.

Thanks all for being there for me.

I feel depressed no matter what. If I had money - groceries - no bill collector's calling I'd still be depressed because I've been in that situation.

The opiate helps TREMENDOUSLY with my motivation, energy and sociability. Right now it seems tho that my depression is overriding the opiate to some degree.

80mg knocks me out solid for 8 hours. When I wake up my legs are so restless I can barely sit still. Klonopin isn't helping much. Then I get very emotional over stupid things - commercials, etc., and cry alot.

Is this normal?? Please help

thank you all!!

eye muscle spasms for 2 years after 3 weeks

In reply to Re: You are hanging in there! » KayeBaby, posted by JerryPharmStudent on April 25, 2007, at 22:13:15

i only took it 3 weeks at lowest dose, it gave me no warning and my eyes always wanted to close every 1 second, rapidly and it didnt went away

still have it after years now

type in google, geodon neurological damage, i once came accross this and IGNORED it... i taught lowest dosing could not be causing TD

also type Geodon evil and you will see other people too claiming this..

go for abilify,

or try taking seroquel low dose 25 mg twice a day for 3 weeks

Hey, Jer. I'm proud of you for reaching deep inside, and finding the mojo to push forward. We're there with you, but you're doing the work.

I'm going to ask you to call on the pharm part of Jerry. You're taking serious meds for serious illness. There is always the potential for side effects, but that is true of even the most benign of medication. You can self-monitor, self-report, and have an open dialog with the doctor who is monitoring your progress.

I know what it's like to climb out of a pit. Everything is uphill, from there. Hang in there, buddy. One day at a time.

I will definitely check this out. As for trying Seroquel - that's an "evil" medication for me. Causes severe weight gain and knocks me out for days.

Geodon won't cause brain damage, not in me atleast. Not sure that it knocking you out is good, didn't do that for me. The half life of geodon is 7 hours, so you are waking up when it were's off. Do you eat more or less on geodon?
