Been on Emsam 9mg/24 since October with no side effects (thank the fates).
In December, a back problem amplified and I was confined to bedrest...subsequent tests found only generalized degeneration, i.e., no good reason to be in severe pain. Also, they found an ovarian cyst that was removed March 20th.
Two weeks before surgery, anesthesiologist advised me to stop the Emsam so it wouldn't conflict with pain meds, etc.
I started up again a week after surgery, which was about the time I noticed that my back wasn't hurting as much...thought maybe the cyst WAS refering pain, as I had suspected.
But now...two weeks back ON Emsam, and the pain is getting MUCH worse...as bad as when I first was confined to bedrest.
COULD there be any correlation?
(On Percoset for pain, Meclizine for vergigo, and the occasional Xanax for anxiety)
Thanks for any thoughts.

yeah...the cyst(benign) was removed, happily. (It was the size of a grapefruit!)
I don't KNOW that the pain and the Emsam are related, but when no one can give you answers, you begin to look for ANY connections.

What does the 'generalised degeneration' mean exactly? Discs?
It sounds as if it *could* involve quite a bit of pain.
ADs can affect the sensation of pain too.
This is the end of the thread.
