Weird thing waking up

Posted by Bonnie_CA on April 7, 2007, at 18:11:35

I woke up today feeling really odd. I couldn't really tell the difference between dreaming and awake. I finally got myself out of bed, and I just felt really strange. Not panicky or depressed, just odd. I felt better after I took my meds (5 mg of lexapro and 25 mg of lamictal) but I was wondering if that feeling was the lowering of the lexapro or the introduction of the lamictal. I started the lamictal on Thursday, and also lowered the lexapro from 10mg to 5mg that day. I'm going to be tapering up to 100mg of lamictal over the course of a month.

I posted a similar, if not the same question a few months ago. No responses. With me, it is as if I have an insight as to what my dreams mean-that they aren't random, and I see how they are connected. It is sort of a fearful feeling, but more of a "wow, really?" feeling. I feel like I'm physcially awake, walking around, even going for a job, but my mind is still in that "dream world" so to speak. Anything like that?

Bassman funny same here. But to the starter of the thread that's two med changes at the same time so it's hard to tell what is what. Same thing is happening to me as a new pdoc took me off ad's and started high doses of benzos which I have found I neither need or want during the day. And seriously have cut out l0mg in the last two days as I do sleep better at night on less during the day with the doses at night. Good luck. Love Phillipa ps not at all worried about withdrawal as the high dose was for such a short time. I just don't find the reasoning of a slow taper beneficial to me. Geez two weeks is nothing. I could see it if it were longer. Got to get back in the range that allowed for good sleep.

I don't feel like I'm in a dream world, but I just felt "off" when I first got up and before I took my meds. I had a similar problem when I was on Effexor. I just wonder if it's the drop in Lexapro or the addition of Lamictal causing me to have vivid dreams and feel so very strange waking up. I hope I don't feel that way tomorrow morning, because I have to get to a gig. I was also thrown by the fact that after I took my meds, once they digested I felt okay.

Could you be in a semiwithdrawl from your meds when you wake up? Love Phillipa

It is possible. I'm not on a high enough dose yet, since I have to titrate up slowly.
