A good drug, but these kill me.

Anyone found any decent remedies?

Figures I didn't get the headache excess salivation. I think it was going to be a good drug. It was helping me get anger out at 50mg. Love Phillipa

Yes, i feel depression lift at 50, but the headaches and insomnia kill me.
Then again, it seems as if all anticonvulsants give me headaches.

Hi Brian,

What have you tried for the headaches so far? Any luck?

Just your run of the mill ibuprofen, aspirin, acemetaphine etc.

Nothing alleviates them, and lamictal also seems to stiffen my neck and shoulders, who knows.

Regards,

Brian

Neck and shoulder stiffness is one of the effects of Lamictal, the headache is a result of the muscle tension.
Someone explained the process to me but don't remember.

Ease the neck stiffness, hot packs, meditation, massage or whatever and headache goes. Pain meds don't help me at all.

Have you tried Lyrica?

I take it at bedtime.

My lamictal headaches didn't respond to OTC meds. I split the dose between am and pm and after a few days, the headaches were gone. Hope this works for you.

Excedrin helps mine. Something about the combo of acetomenaphin and aspirin, with the added kick of caffeine seems to do the trick, even for migraines.

I agree about easing the neck stiffness helping, too. Massage, heat, and gentle stretching help a lot.

Good luck!

I second the Excedrin! Only OTC ever effective in pain relief.

Rolling shoulders forwards and backwards is a good neck/shoulders exercise. Also bending left to right slowly, good for c-spine; NOT back and forward though, per physical therapist's directions re: my c-spine injury.
