This stuff is justcrazy expensive and isn't a preferred med of my health insurance.
Any ideas? I don't qualify for any low income programs or anything of the sort.
Doc doesn't have samples.

You can take Selegiline, which is what EMSAM contains, up to certain doses without dietary
restrictions. Selegiline has been around for a while and is usually on an HMO formulary.There usually is a process to get meds not on the formulary allowed for yourself. This is sometimes
called "pre-approval or pre-authorization". I have been sucessful with this several times, sometimes it is easy but sometimes it is a longer fight/process.

I've sent in a form found on the Squib web site. Should find out in a week or so if I meet their criteria for free Emsam. You might want to give that a try. As expensive as Emsam is, I would think many health insurance companies would baulk at covering for it. It seems as they might be priceing themselves out of the market. Time will tell I guess. Currently I am paying for my Emsam out of my pocket. It has been a little over 6 weeks now and I am getting improving response with the 12mg patch. A week ago I started adding DLPA 500mg. No way to know if that is improving the efficacy. After a few more weeks if I don't recieve what I feel is full relief in my disorder I may increase my dose to above the label max which I am on now or add Lyrica or both. Sure hope they give up some of it for free. I think it could be a usefull treatment for many folks, but its cost is nuts is'nt it? Hope you are able to give it a try somehow. Best wishes.

I only know of two doing well on it without some augmentation. And I had forgotten the high price. Maybe that's why no replies. Love Phillipa

The cheapest price I've come across is about $400 for 30 patches at Costco. However, the 6mg, 9mg and 12mg patches are priced identically, so you can get two months supply at a 6mg dose by buying one box of 12mg patches and cutting them in half, reducing your cost to $200 a month. Other than that, I unfortunately don't know of any cheaper alternatives.
