I split my 200mg dose between evening and morning as I feel better when I do (more even, I guess).
I titrated up using the starter pack, and I don't remember the dosages, except I think they went up two-fold every week. The leap from 100mg to 200mg was too much fore me and I stayed at 100mg for 3 weeks until I felt comfortable before going up to the 200mg, and then I decided to split that dose.
It is doing a fantastic job at controlling my constant anxiety. I am down to having anxiety during stressful (for me) situations. This is real progress for me.

Good luck!!

I did the same thing, however I split my 400mg dose into two 200mg doses daily. I'll add that I felt neither sleepy nor invigorating effects, just mood stabilizing effects. I had no skin rash effects either. I would recommend giving the Lamictal a chance. I don't know why it seemed to poop out on me as of late, but it helped immensely at the beginning (Any input on that ClearSkies?). I could tell rather quickly whether increasing dosage was helping or not.

It hasn't pooped out so much as it took a looooooong time for my body to get used to this medication. Each titration upwards in dose felt like it was too quick for my slow-learning brain cells or something.

I had nasty headaches - that no OTC remedy even came close to relieving - that, when they subsided, was my signal that I could wait a couple of days and then go on to the next higher dose.

I definitely feel more even. The dips and highs are smoothed out, but I don't think I am flattened. Maybe the Cymbalta offsets any depressant qualities it might have (no, that sounds like a load of hooey)... mostly, I'm in the frame of mind that, If It Helps Me, I'm Taking It!!

Clear Skies you mean it helps anxiety? But did you take the initial dose in the am or pm. I takel00mg of luvox and 20mg of valium at sleep. When should I take the first dose if I's asleep for some reason I not as afraid. And as what dose did the the headaches start? Love Phillipa

Valium question for Phillipa

HI, you take Valium regularly? As in every day? My Dr. prescribed some for me for the vertigo but it was great for evening anxiety and sleep and I thought that it was a big no-no to take on a regular basis so I didn't ask for more. Other than the vertigo, anxiety at night and not being able to sleep are my 2 big nuisances. I'd love to knock them both out with Valium but I'm afraid of it. What do you think?

My neuro and pdoc agree -- split dose for Lamictal --whether for BP, Dep, or seizures.

Also, "going low and slow" seems to minimize the chances for the rash to occur.

I followed the instructions on the starter pack. They were quite specific, but I forget exactly how they went. I do know it was one pill for a week or two. Then it was take one in the a.m. and one in the p.m. for 2 weeks (or one?). At three tablets it was two at one time and one at the other. And now I take 2 in the a.m. and 2 in the p.m. for a total of 100 mg.
