Maxi,

I wished you could just come out of this. I hate to see you this way.

I take Prozac 20mg, it gives you a little stimulation in the morning, but i dont think itself would help. Have you asked your doctor about a psychostimulant such as Dexedrine? genericlly its cheap, definely not as expensive as Adderall XR. I think 30-40mg would help you out of this, but it when it wear off its bad. Thats always been known about stimuants. Sometimes its ok when it wears off, it just depends.

Dexedrine helps me have positive thougths, at 30-40mg. I think about things postively. But even if your in a bad mood, it still lifts you up.

Having a postive mind set itself, medication can help, thinking postive helps, but its hard.

Your posts in the past have helped, you written long posts on mine about getting a social worker, when my mom was really being a control freak. You help others i've seen in your past posts. Dont forget about that.

is it possible to ask your doctor about dexedrine, or adderall generically? be direct with him. I would definaly prescribe you something to at least help you get out of this, anything. But i pray god will be with you.

Please be alright,

ok....((hug))

Take Care

Matt

Dear Maxie

>The Parnate is out of my system for sure by now.

How long have you been off the Parnate?

>stimulants

You might like Dexedrine Spansules, they could provide a similar effect to Adderall XR. I expect that Dexedrine Spansules would be cheaper than Adderall XR but I'm not sure. You could contact your local pharmacy and ask.

Hi! Good to see you back!

I normally steer clear of stims, but in this case I agree with rjlockhart that one would be good right now. You need to get outa this hole you're in and that may very well do it, with style!
In my opinion, it would be wise to take the Prozac NOW. Firstly, it should give some improvement - eventually, even though it might not be enough, but it's gotta be worth a try considering your current state. But even more than that, because it's such an effective and easy/safe drug to augment. You can add practically anything - stimulant, Provigil, tricyclics, Wellbutrin, NRIs, lithium, stablizers, APs.......the list goes on. Should you start Add/Dex then Prozac might help steady your mood too. Like rjlockhart mentions, strong stims can cause havoc if & when you crash on them, but an AD will help this.

Read the babblemail I sent for a few other suggestions.

Well I wish you well. Things will get better soon!

Kev.

I have limited computer access time so this is in response to those who responded to my post.

I am taking Dexedrine now. I hate the crash, but at least I can get out of bed.

I used to take 80 mg of Prozac before. It helped until it pooped out on me.

I am still living out of my Province. I don't have a doctor here. I have no med coverage here. My pdoc at home is away so I can't get him to call in the Prozac.

I'm trying to get "home" at the beginning of December. I'm trying to hold on. I have already written out letters etc. in case I can't hold on. I simply have no hope. Yeah, it's bad right now.

Dexedrine wears off usally in about 3 hours, it just "wears off" quickly. Adderall slowly seems to wear off, it comes on more slowly. Dexedrine is more fast, but wears off fast. Since in it is only on isomer d-amphetamine, adderall is mixture of amphetamine, I-amphetamine(25%) D- amphetamine (75%) and i've heard some wierd reports that it has some kind of r-amphetamine. Wierd, dont know.

Take Care maxime, if the dexedrine wears off to fast, try adderall 30mg or 40. I think you said you used to be on adderall but i dont know.

Take Care

Thanks Phillipa. I'm not so sure I will make it. There are a lot of factors you are unaware of and that I can't share. But thanks for your optimistic outlook.

Thanks Matt. I can't afford the Adderall. I don't think anything can help at this point. Sad thing is, I don't even care. *shrugs*

Ed, I've been off the Parnate for 3 weeks now ... maybe more, maybe less. Sorry I can't focus.

Thanks Kevin. Things are only going to get worse. That's the pattern. I have to take so much Dexedrine right now just to get out of bed and function for a few hours every day ... and I am running out of Dexedrine.

Peace.

Will you call your pdoc on Monday? He could write you a prescription for Prozac.

Failed attempt. Spent several days in ICU and then on the medical ward. I am in the process of trying to return "home" and my pdoc there wants me admitted into the hospital. I don't want to be in the hospital. It's pointless.

I feel nothing.

Please be safe, dear.

I could use a hug or two ...

I'm scared.

Thanks for the hugs.

I don't know how long I will be in the hospital for. I don't know what meds they will try since I have tried so much. Maybe they will just get me stable on Prozac????

It will be awhile before I am online again. I don't have access at home and I don't know when I will be released from the hospital ... soon I hope.

Take care everyone.

Hi Maxime,

Just quickly wanted to send a hug or two your way... I wish you all the best for recovery. I can imagine that the idea of hospitalization is scary, but the constant care and monitoring should be a refreshing alternative to what sounds like your pdoc's generalized ambivalence. And also potentially quite productive in finaly finding a med combination that works.

Best,

Dear Maxie

I don't think you'll get this message because I'm probably too late. I've been offline for a few days.

Hospital seems like the best thing right now. You can get back on Prozac to help your depression.

I gave you my phone number in an email. Please call me :-)

With love
