I wrote a few days ago that I was undecided on whether to join a depression research project.
I decided to give it a try. The reasons for this are:
1. Free doctor visits.
2. Free Medications.
3. Free blood tests, EKG, other tests.
4. I can stop anytime if I'm feeling bad or it's not working out.
5. If I stop, they will provide 6 months of free mental health treatment. It seems worth at least a try.
I have a question, though. They're going to taper me off Celexa and put me on Paxil CR, then add Abilify. (If Abilify doesn't work, I can go on Lamictal.)
Has anyone been on Paxil CR? Does it work for depression? What kind of side-effects does it have?
How about Abilify vs. Lamictal? I tried Abilify for two days and it made me nauseous and very tired. I would have given it more time if I hadn't been in school at the time, with lots of assignments and I could not afford to ruin my grades. Has anyone tried both? Which one works better in your experience?
Thanks for any comments.

My only comment is that if your former med tx was working to stick with that. The free medical care isn't worth the risk of a med maybe never working again. Fondly, Phillipa

I think they are thinking the paxil Cr will make you tired and there for the abilify will work out. Try it. If not I found lamictal easyer to handle with out a sleepy med.
