More on lunesta

Posted by willyee on November 15, 2005, at 0:15:07

I am finaly able to afford lunesta.I havent used any slee aids.

What i find about this is i cant get on any soild track because if i do have a good day then im first excitied about that, then second and third kept awake from my normal insomnia in addition to the insomnia produced by parante.

So i dont sleep,by moring im half maniac from being up,and i cant take my meds cause they will act different with no sleep, make me very hyper.

I know if im ever going to make any progress it is crucial that i create and normal sleep/wake cycle.

I dont know much about lunesta from exper,is this something i can depend on to help me do so,or is it gonna quickly build tolerance?

Is it even a good idea to use it in a therapy type fashion taking it every night for a while?

I see so much tolerance issues with ambien im wonering if im getting my hopes up to high here.

Any one with fairly long term use of lunesta can share there exper with it briefly id appreciate it....thanks!

Willyee just E-mailed you. And lunesta hasn't been talked about for awhile. I still have two coupons for two free pills of 3mg lunesta. Fondly, Phillipa

I've taken Lunesta at 3mg for several months and it works very well- even since I've been taking Parnate (2 weeks). I'm able to sleep 8 hours (which is the amount of sleep I need to feel fully rested), and have no hangover from it at all. I've been very pleased with it. In the past, I've taken Trazadone and Ambien and found that I woke up way too early on Ambien and had dizziness and hangover from Trazadone. Lunesta has neither of these problems.
I actually ran out of it last night, so had to take leftover Ambien. It took awhile to fall asleep and sure enough, I woke up after 4 hours.
I will definitely be making a trip to the pharmacy today for my Lunesta refill! I hope you have good luck with it as well.

One other thing that I thought I might add-- along with the Lunesta, I've been drinking a cup of tea before bed that contains Valerian Root and Melatonin. I've just started this in the past few days-- I find that it helps me sleep through the night without waking to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. This is especially important for me, because I get dizzy standing up from bed. I've never had a problem falling back to sleep when taking the Lunesta alone, but you might try a tea with it.

I bought the Melatonin tea at Vitamin Shoppe, but you can also get a Celestial Seasoning tea called "Sleepytime extra" at most grocery stores. The Sleeptime Extra has Valerian in it and works well, too.
