Attention new people to this board

Posted by DoYouKnowHim? on August 14, 2005, at 1:08:57

It may be hard to realize by reading many of these posts, but a lot of these meds work for many people.

You have to realize that many of us only come to this board when they haven't found a med that works for them, or had a bad experience with a medicine.

I can only speak for myself: When I am feeling good on my meds, I never look or post on this board.

All I'm saying is that you have to realize where some people are coming from in here.

It's not often that people will post with messages like

Cymbalta, 60mg
Topamax 50mg
Xanax 5mg as needed
Ambien 10 mg

...all working very well for me since January of this year, dx'd with bipolar2, GAD, and panic attacks.

Thanks for this post!

Well so far I haven't found anything to help me gain back independance, want to get out of bed, be able to be alone, want to do anything. All my pdoc says is are you depressed and what would you like to try? I'm not the doctor so help! During peri-menopause and menopause everything SSRI's and effexor made me jump out of my skin. Xanax used to work for anxiety but doesn't anymore. Even the valium I'm on doesn't work or the luvox I said I'd try again? I'm so scared! Fondly, Phillipa

Hey DoYouKnowHim,

I totally agree .... when I am feeling good I never post because I am outside enjoying the world! Actually, I use the number of posts as a gauge of my mood ... the less I post, the better I feel!

Dear Phillipa,
It sounds like you and I have so much in common. I'm 51 and menopausal. All SSRI's have failed miserably for me. I'm very anxious and depressed and also very scared.
Are you on any meds now?

Sonya
