Was wondering if anyone has had success with wellbutrin for panic. I realize it is not supposed to work but serzone did for me without sexual side effects, maybe wellbutrin would too?

sorry- i know you asked for success stories, but mixing wellbutrin w/ panic disorder scares me.
i had my first panic attack a week after starting wellbutrin.
ALTHOUGH IMMEDIATLY after starting it my ssri-blunted libido was uh, raging.i discontinued it because i beleive it excabrated my anxiety.
but i've heard of people w/ anxiety disorders succsessfully using wellbutrin in conjunction w/ ssri's to keep anxiety in check and to lessen sexual side effects.i'm sure someone else w/ more helpful info will respond

I love Wellbutrin as an AD, but it does make me anxious. I've added Effexor, which is great for anxiety. I also take Klonopin as needed for panic and anxiety. Wellbutrin alone will probably increase your anxiety and panic.

Wellbutrin seems to worsen panic becuase it increases dopamine and noradrenaline, (not what you want) these are the nuerotransmitters that make you "vigilent" alert.
Panic disorder sometimes you may have to much of this already.
I rerember wellbutrin made me feel derealization during panic, beuase of the severe anxiety that was caused.

i take wellbutrin for panic/anxiety. it is the only med i take except for benzos as needed, and i really do need them. but wellbutrin has been perfect for me. i also did very well on serzone and absolutely loved it. i would have stayed on it, but i couldn't get up my dose high enough without getting lightning flashes/brain zapping. but serzone was great for me, too.no typical SSRI has worked for me. it just was obviously not the drug that i need, and my pdoc recognizes it, too.
wellbutrin the first 4-6 weeks makes panic/anxiety worse. but if that's the drug for you, if you stick with it and get your dose where it should be, it could work well for you. also note that each version is slightly different, so if you can't tolerate XL, you might be ok with SR, or IR, etc. i take 375mg I.R. and klonopin or xanax as needed. what the wellbutrin does for me is level me out. i feel mentally stable. i need a benzo because life stress is awful right now, but i also have gone for long periods with only wellbutrin and no benzo use at all. (you have to get off caffeine altogether, tho.)
