i have taken desoxyn 30mg before. not prescribed to me, BAD!

It was less phsyially adgitating than adderall, such as vain constriction, and general tension. There was some tension, but it had a more "direct" mental effect. More of an 'ease' studying. its actually more gradual in effect, VERY ironic, it moved up into a slope to full peak, lasted about 1 (1/2) longer. Not like dexedrine "wham".

I was on Adderall 40mg for 8 years. Im completely off now. Its not bad, but its not good.

Cheers

6 IR they where my dad's, they where OLD (august 1994)

There where only 13 left.

Euphoric? i wouldnt really call it enjoyable, it made things more intresting, while i was craming for my Junior Theme in high school. I got an 89!

They did have a more....... "aura" effect than adderall or dexedrine. It wore off smooth. But not much diffrent from dexedrine, exept it slowly and more potently comes on. Dexedrine rapidly starts working, very fast. I took Dexedrine in 1999-2000? for a while, 20mg IR (4 IR tabs) but swiched back to addrall in the 30mg IR form, becuase it was more convient.

Did you say you take Focalin? or Rililin? someone of those i rerember. Uptopizen and Viper(has some number after it i cant rerember) both take Desoxyn. Talk to them.

Utopizen hasnt been in much lately i asked him for some help on stimulant withdrawl and 'NONE'. The last post i talked with him about desoxyn he said he took 20mg. I dont know now.....

ADHD is a hard one because
a) There is tremendous hysteria about overdiagnosis/overprescribing
b) The most effective medications have a lot in common with recreational, abusable, drugs
c) The state of the art wrt medication has changed enormopusly in past five years

If you get an ADHD specialist who does research, publishes papers
he she is more likely to be aware of the start of the art thinking on ADHD medication.

You might be getting right drug in too small a dose.
Find another Doctor. Contact some of the noted ADHD experts and ask who they know in your area.

Ritalin just made me tired. Adderall helps with focus and keeps me on track instead of as scattered. It doesn't last 10 hrs for me, so I take reg. adderall afterwards to supplement.

I take Ritalin, when it works, it works well, but theres down and sleep issues sometimes.

So you wouldn't say Desoxyn is markedly different from the others you've tried then, not all its hyped up to be then.

I didn't read through what everyone else responded, but make sure that you are seeing a psychiatrist rather than a general practice doc. GP's tend to be too conservative and undermedicate b/c they don't have as much experience and knowledge about psych probs. They have even conducted studies that show this!

If you already see a pdoc: you need a new one.

Hes never asked me what helps the most, dosage etc to busy looking at his 'puter. I'm not a bloody book, i need adaquate medication to control my issues and get on with life.

Hi
It doesn't really, i guess it could make someone dopey and less troublesome, but it works in a nurologically opposite way to a stimulant.

I asked my doctor about Desoxyn. He said no research results suggesting superior effect to dexedrine or Adderal, much greater
risk of dependence. Not a practical option.

He would say that, no Doc wants to script Desoxyn if he can help it!!

Adderall was a diet pill and often causes jitteryness,

Desoxyn has the most favourable CNS Vs somatic effects of all ADD?ADHD meds on the market.

Vivi, is it possible your Adderall dose is just too high? How much are you taking? And is it the regular or extended release?
