Leaving for a bit

Posted by Maxime on March 10, 2005, at 23:20:31

I find that I can no longer "be civil" towards a certain person on this board. I need to get away from this board before I write a seething post to this person. I can't ignore statements like "get a life" (I don't want the one I have now) or "she really gets on my nerves". I hate myself enough as it is and I don't need someone to make me feel worse about myself than I already do. I know you are going to say to just ignore this person ... but I can't. Words hurt. They sting and leave a mark.

Anyhow, I have one friend who knows which boards I post to and I have instructed her to let anyone know if something should happen to me. I am teetering on the edge and I don't know which way I will fall.

Be kind to one another. Show compassion. And always be civil.

Maxime

Maxime,
I'm sorry you were hurt by those words. I'm sure I would be if it were me. It's too bad there is not a way that you could turn off the posts from someone you don't wish to read so that you don't even see them. Because I hate to see you leave.

I hope you come back in time. And I also hope that you find your way back from that edge. It sounds like a scary place.

Please take care of yourself.

There have been some extremely uncivil posts directed towards you and I don't understand why that person hasn't been blocked. You should not have to leave here as it is a potentially therapeutic environment, to say nothing of the fact that your presence here may be potentially therapeutic for others. I am someone to whom words are EXTREMELY important, so i understand why you would be stung. You are not the one who should be leaving the board.

Calm down Matt. Use your energy to study for exams. Take a deep breath, and try to relax. Fondly, Phillipa

Sandy, i pray you will become stable, try to sit and organize what all this sting is tearing you up.

I'm 17, im torn up with myself. At least a kid is willing to give a 36yr old some stuff.

My girlfriend and i are ripped up, and im not put together, but i am willing to give you help which isnt common for my age.

Best to you. Un wind and find what is causing this inner torchure, get to it, destroy it.

Hypnotherapy may help.

Matt

Please don't post anything that could lead others to feel accused or put down. I've asked you to be civil before, so now I'm going to block you from posting for a week.

If you or others have questions about this or about posting policies in general, or are interested in alternative ways of expressing yourself, please see the FAQ:

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil

Follow-ups regarding these issues should be redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration. They, as well as replies to the above posts, should of course themselves be civil.

Thanks,

Bob

This post really upset me for several resons. First of all no one has the power to make me do anything. To think that you have the power to make me do any of those things you mentioned is wrong.

Secondly, I was really upset with the references to specific "things" I might do. You do not know me. You don't not know what it is like to live inside my brain.

I have never put down anyone on this site ... EVER. I follow the words and wisdom of his Holiness, the Dalai Lama, and Ghandi and I show compassion and I will continue to do so.

And my name isn't Sandy. You have called me Sandy a couple of times. I have no idea where that came from.
