Weird color Klonopin, as effective?????

Posted by Donna Louise on January 8, 2005, at 6:01:59

I am going to call the pharmacyst this morning BTW but I would like to know if any of you have had this pink colored K. It is scored but I have to use a knife to half it. I took half (.25 mg) last night and had a bad night's sleep. I usually only take 1/4 of the .5mg (I know, it is practically dust) and get much better results. I am wondering if this is just a bad generic, if it is indeed K.
Thanks for any info.

Donna

Hey :) When I was taking Klonopin a few years back, I noticed that taking 2 .5mg pills was never as effective as 1 1mg pill. Even with the brand. Same for 2 1mg not as good as a single 2mg. Weird, but I noticed it every time. Maybe in my head, but other people I knew who took it said the same thing. Good Luck :)

You may just have the generic version manufactured by Novopharm..they are pink, Engraved: N over N on scored side, 0.5 on unscored side

does it have a funny "R" like symbol on one side?

If so, its Purepac, a generic maker of Klonopin, and a pretty good generic for benzos.

I can vouch its most likely Purepac. Same
.5mg clonazepam pink I take. I was thrown for a loop once a while back I think I got yellow pills (?) I forget the manufacturer.

By FDA standards, if I gather the fine print, all generics and new drugs have to have a "90% confidence interval for AUC and Cmax between 80-125%", which means more or less they have to be fairly close in how they act in your body.

true...and for the vast majority of drugs, this minor difference does not play a role in efficacy...the only time it really poses a problem is with generic antiepileptics, where proper dose is key to preventing seizues.

The pill has what looks to me like one of those christian fish logos and the numbers 33 on one side and nothing on the scored side. On the bottle it says Pure. so it must be that purepac kind. It is reassurring to hear that is good generic for benzos. It is not good to give someone with OCD an new color pill....These are hard to break too and since I just take 1/4 of one .5 mg, they need to break pretty easily. I just hate change...
Thanks for all the info guys, it really helps me relax, I need all the help with that I can get!

I have the same pill. I looked it up too. Unfortunately it does not relax me, just makes me feel numb. Glad to hear it's a good one though. Phillipa
