Trying to find out what meds are suitable?

Posted by Jibbecka on September 1, 2004, at 0:42:29

I have been suffering from depression and anxiety with panic attacks for about 5 years now. I've decided to try to find a medication to help me, but I'm not sure what my options are. I had tried clonazepam for a serious panic attack episode, but only stayed on it for two days because it gave me uncontrollable violent outbursts. I have heard that Lexapro is great for the depression anxiety combo, but I've been told that I probably can't take antidepressants because of a risk of manic episodes. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them.
Thanks,
Jibbecka

Do you have a history of mania, or have you been diagnosed as bipolar?

I've never really been diagnosed as bipolar, but I may have had some manic episodes in the past.
