I took 25mg of dothiapin last night, i fealt all panicky after taking it.. was freaked out but i know it will be worth it.. only took 25mg 1 out of the 2 i supposed to take a night, i will carry on taking 1 for a few days then i will up to 2, i have to go back to the doctors on friday.... has anyone had any experience with this drug? my doctor seems to think it will be the one i have been looking for? i bloody hope so.. :-S

Hi Donna,
There is no need to rapidly increase the doseage, starting with 25mg is fine, I would stay at that dosage for a week & then increase it by half a tablet for a week. The slower you move up, the less the side effects will be. :)

panda they are capsuals in 25mg, i was told to start on 2 a day then increase to 4 a day.. i cant take half says on the pack not to take the powder out of the capsual either.. i will stick to 25mg for a bit then see how i get on..thanks for all the kind words AND ENCOURAGMENT i will keep u all posted..

Is this med going to replace the remeron or is it used to help the anxiety? I hope it starts working for you. Keep us posted.

Thanks.. i quit the remeron about 4/5 nights ago after a year and a half, because ever since the tablet form was stopped and the disolvables were made here in the uk i was starting to get wat my doc says was bad nightmares followed by panick attacks in my sleep.. very scary indeed..
i started on 25 mg 1 capsual of dothiapin saturday night (doc said to start with 2) .. i am a little concerned about the fast hrt rate that alot of people get from tca's i had this problem with ssri's, do u think i might be the opposite with tca's? i havent had this problem as of yet although i do get a little panicky within half an hr of taking the dothiapin,(only been 2 nights lol) my hrt rate is about 70-85 beats per min which is around average for me..
any advice?

Give the med a fair trial of 4-6 weeks before making any decisions. There is defiantly an adjustment period in taking them physically.
