Talk with your doctor, and explain the situation. My pdoc tells me that Prozac is the most anxiety-inducing SSRI antidepressant, in his experience. That certainly was my experience too, and a shift in ADs may be appropriate (plus, maybe, a higher dose of Klonopin). But you really need to discuss this with your doctor ASAP -- there's no reason to suffer, and there are lots of other options.

I needed a higher dose than 20 mgs of Prozac, and I take Xanax [alazopram] as needed, and I'm feeling pretty good. My psych says in his opinion Klonopin causes depression in quite a few people; he tends towards prescribing Xanax for anxiety. I only take it as needed [mostly at bedtime]. I increased my Prozac from 20 mgs to 30 mgs and then 40 mgs and that dose works well. Prozac has much less side effects than many others for a lot of people. Also, trying to get our lives as stress free as possible [difficult but doable] helps alot also. I hope you feel better.

Is prozac the only med you've tried?
I was on 20mgs of prozac along with 25mgs of doxepin at night to sleep. It really didn't work that well for me either.
The doc bumped the prozac up to 40mgs which did not work for me, but has for some, might be an option for you.
In my opinion, prozac is one of the weaker ssri's with zoloft being the strongest for me. Keep on trying, there's lots more alternatives.

prozac made me suicidal.

Are you taking generic or brand.

This may sound stupid. But on another board, two people indicated that generic prozac did not work for them but brand had in the past. They actually both ended up on lexapro because insurance wouldn't cover the brand name. Both indicated, however, that they would go back on brand name prozac if lexapro stopped working.
