Don't be too hard on yourself. I have been taking Imovane/zopiclone, similar to Ambien but a little longer-acting; up until recently I usually took 2 a night (15 mg) and occasionally supplemented with trazadone (50 mg). The trouble I find with the Z' family of sleep aids is that if I don't go to bed RIGHT AWAY, especially if I do something active (even playing on the computer) I don't get any help at all from them.

I have also taken 1 or 2 trazadone when I have missed the critical 20-30 min. for the Zopliclone. Like you, I get an overlong sleep with a bit of a hangover from 50-100 mg trazadone. Not everybody does, and some people take WAY more than that, but you are not alone in your experience and you haven't done any damage or done anything terribly wrong in my book.

Best,

Tony P
