Have Zoloft Experience? Click Here Please!

Posted by becksA on February 14, 2004, at 18:29:44

I've recently started zoloft for social anxiety and slight depression, but I think my dose may be a bit low, I'm on 100 MG/day right now. What are other people's doses that have worked?

I have not personally taken Zoloft but have done a bit of research on it. 100mgs is probably a good dose to remain at for awhile until you can tell if it's working. While people go up to 300mgs, I don't think 100mgs is by an means considered a "low" dose. It may take up to 12 weeks for the Zoloft to affect your Social Anxiety so I would give the 100mgs/day some time before upping it. Then again, if by "recently" you mean you have been on it for several months, then perhaps you need to try 150mgs or so. See what your doc thinks. He/she will know best!

Good luck

Hi...thanks,
I've been on zoloft now for a little over 1 month...however I did notice quite a change (although not as much as i'd like), so i guess i assumed that is all im going to see with this dose. was i wrong to assume that and i should continue this amount for the time being?

I have been on zoloft for a total of 2 years out of my 6 on psych drugs.

100mg is plenty. You should titrate slowly. Lots of docs are sloppy and let you leap quickly. I have been on as little as 37.5 to augment wellbutrin and as much as 150. 200 is the max usually.

Side effects:
extra hour of sleep
vivid dreams
apathy
bright colors the first few days
night sweats
nausea in the beginning
stoned feeling

benefits:

not sure!

I have some social anxiety and I am bipolar. I started on zoloft as a major depressive. i know it works, but I am not sure if SSRIs are for me.

It is a good drug if you can handle what SSRIs can do to you. For me they dull my intelligence and Zoloft immediately adds an hour to how much sleep i need.

Titrate up and down slowly. Give yourself a full week for every 25 or 50mg. Do not ever stop cold turkey. I suffered horrible SSRI discontinuation syndrome a couple times when I was not up on getting my refills.

Need input on sexual sides of Zoloft. I've got samples to try and my doc told me Zoloft seems to have less sexual sides than Paxil and other SSRI's. Need input from you folks currently taking Zoloft. I'm starting low, 25mg then possibly moving up to 50mg. I'm currently taking 150mg Wellbutrin XL and adding the low dose Zoloft to help with anxiety, social phobia.

re: zoloft doses. 75 mgs worked for a long time. then 100 mgs, then 150 mgs and then 200 mgs ( over a 10 yr. period) terrics

are you a male or female?

principal sexual side effect is delayed ejaculation. It should not affect your libido though unless it just makes you apathetic in general.

I'm male and can live with some delayed ejaculation. With Paxil it went downhill completely, first week delayed ejaculation, by week 3 I could not get an erection and really couldn't even have a sexual thought.
