Buspar and Pregnancy

Posted by JenniferMarie on October 30, 2003, at 10:47:25

I finally saw my psychiatrist today and he prescribed Buspar. He said that its relatively safe during pregnancy. I was wondering if anyone has any information for me. I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks

I don't have much to offer, but BuSpar is a Preganancy Category B product -- that means that no adverse effects have been shown on animal fetuses, but no human studies are available. Basically, it's among the safer drugs you can take during pregnancy.
